Tribute & Message From The Family

On Saturday, January 23, 2021, Terry DuPriest, a loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 63.
Terry was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, by his mother Alberta DuPriest. Committed to civil service, he enlisted in the Army after high school. Following active duty, he served as an officer for the Indianapolis Police Department for 33 years, during which Terry had the privilege of riding as a member of the Indianapolis Police Department Motorcycle Drill Team, taking part in two Presidential Inaugural Parades.
On April 16, 1983, he married the love of his life, Sandra DuPriest. They raised two beautiful children together, James and Brittany DuPriest, and were able to spend 40 wonderful years together.
Terry was an avid Harley rider and had a passion for life. He loved his friends like family and could always be found laughing. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and exploring the world, as well as riding his Harley out to Sturgis every year with his friends. He was known for his giant bear hugs and infamous "knuckle-bumps".
Terry is preceded in death by his mother Alberta DuPriest. He is survived by his wife Sandi and his two children, James and Brittany and his sister, Tami Vanette. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Terry's name can be made to Riley children's hospital. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel.

Condolence & Memory Journal

To Sandi and Terry's children, we were shocked and saddened by this news of Terry passing. Each year in August he was our most anticipated and welcomed guest! It was always OUR pleasure to have him around during the Rally. In fact there was nobody more pleasant to EVER come through our doors than Terry. We will be remembering him during Sturgis this year and beyond. We are very sorry for your huge loss. God Bless

I had the pleasure of growing up next to your family for most of my life. You were the best neighbor, and a great policeman. Thanks for all the rides on your bike around the block, letting us swim in your pool, trusting me to watch your children. You will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for your loss Sandi, Jim, and Brittany. He was an amazing man. Prayers for you all during this difficult time.

I was lucky to call Terry my friend. I remember him teaching me that it would be a waste of money to buy a radar for my personal car by having me drive down Morris where he clocked me before I even saw him! I will always remember his smile. Prayers to his family
